52 Earrings in 2011 – Nos. 33, 34 & 35

The catch up continues, but I got busy today and managed to list 3 pairs!

Simplicity is one the key ingredients in my design aesthetic, and these copper swirl earrings are no exception to that rule.
Created from hand cut copper sheet, I formed and hammered the swirls before soldering them on asymmetrically (another of my favourite ways to design!).

Modestly beautiful – with a dash of spring green – these unique copper earrings will become a favourite in the warmer months of the year.

I experimented with olive oil while making these earrings! And I can hear you saying “What!?”
I was playing with trying to get different colours out of the copper as I heated and cooled it. A friend who works on large scale metal sculptures had been telling me how he cooled his metal in dirty old engine oil, so I thought I’d have a go with some fresh olive oil.
The results are subtle on these earrings – with just hints of rainbow peaking through.

I’ve had these ornate sterling silver pieces in my stash for a while, and was feeling the need to make a pair of earrings with a touch of the cosmopolitan to them.
Enter the sterling silver… Combined with swaying sterling silver chain and a spontaneous dash of lavender in the amethyst, these earrings will get you in touch with your inner hippy chick!
Completed on sterling silver ear wires, these earrings will arrive with complimentary rubber ear nuts to help prevent the loss of your earrings.
