One fantastic mind-clearing tip given to me by one of my teaching colleagues was to paint your mind black…
What you do is imagine you have a paint brush dipped in an never-ending black and you slowly start painting your mind. Start in the corners, make sure you get all the edges and work your way to the middle.
I use this technique on nights when I’m having trouble dropping off to sleep – works a charm. Sure, sometimes I have to go back over thoughts that need a second-coat, but it definitely helps to calm and clear the mind.
