The talented Ange is a Brisbane-based jeweller who loves hammering, wire wrapping and beading beauty. And you are certainly going to find some beautiful jewellery in her Etsy shop.
I love Ange’s Tiny Bow range – they truly are tiny, and when I see them I wonder “How on earth does she manage them!” They are so neat and sweet!!
Ange has agreed to go Under The Spotlight and share a bit about herself with us…
(Be sure and read to the end of the interview for her lovely discount offer – thanks for that Ange!!)
NAME: Ange McMullen
AGE: just turned 29… oh no! last year of my twenties!
HOMETOWN: Brisbane, Australia.
1) Tell us a little bit about yourself…
Um, I’m a boring public servant by day (human services policy) and superwoman by night. erm, no actually, at night I run a home spray-tanning business, make jewellery and attempt to help my fiance renovate our house.
2) What time of day are you at your creative best?
In the early evening – about 6pm when I’ve gotten home, unwound, and relaxed on the couch, my hands get all restless and I pick up some wire and my tools!
3) Where do you find your inspiration? Do you have any ‘rituals’ to help put you in the creative state-of-mind?
Not really, I do get twitchy if I haven’t created in awhile – it’s a real outlet for me. In terms of specific inspiration (for a piece) I will usually see a shape somewhere, then grab a pen and start doodling, and voila! I have a lot of drawings around the place that I haven’t gotten around to bringing to life yet – sometimes I skip this process all together and just start making something.
4) How do you squeeze crafting into your busy life?
As I mentioned previously, it’s an outlet for me. If I don’t hammer, twist, bend and create something pretty, I get down and fidgety 🙂 I *must* find time!
5) What are you working on now?
Building up some stock for the BrisStyle markets, lots of teeny bow earrings, bowtie necklaces and loads of other pieces.
6) What three tools could you not live without?
heheh easy… my cutters, round nosed pliers and flat nosed pliers 🙂 oh wait… no, hammer, anvil and… oh! this is a harder question that I thought!
Thanks so much for interviewing me 🙂 I would be pleased to offer your readers a discount of 10% for mentioning your blog during checkout.
And thanks for agreeing to the interview Ange!
