Another extremely talented Aussie that I am a fan of is Christine of BonTons.
Maybe it’s because I don’t (okay can’t) sew!! In reality, it’s her lunch totes 🙂
I first came across them via a tweet, and thought “What an awesome idea”. No more plastic bags or cling wrap – too cool.
So I asked Christine if she’d like to go Under the Spotlight…
HOMETOWN: Brisbane, Sunny Queensland, Australia
1) Tell us a little bit about yourself…
I am a Mum to three gorgeous children. My day is filled with going to the park, painting, and zooming little cars around on the carpet with our little 2 year old boy as well as all the other Mum jobs. He starts kindy next year so I’ll decide then whether I will return to the workforce.
2) What time of day are you at your creative best?
My mind is racing with creative ideas all the time. I especially like the quietness of the night, this is when I can sketch, cut and stitch without interruptions. I am constantly talking about my ideas with my family and getting their input. My family always has a lot of creative ideas too, it’s just finding time to try them all out.
3) Where do you find your inspiration?
Beautiful fabric is my inspiration. I love to go fabric shopping and with access to the internet I can browse fabric stores from all over the world, without dragging the family around.
4) How do you squeeze crafting into your busy life?
It is sometimes difficult to find a balance between family life and my craft but we are a crafty family making it easier because everyone enjoys being involved.
I like to set the timer for at least 10 minutes everyday, even if I don’t feel like crafting and get to work, it’s amazing how much can be achieved in that short amount of time.
5) What are you working on now?
I’m currently working on new Lunch Bags. There are so many gorgeous fabrics out there for me to use. I’ve had many requests to make more Manly Lunch Bags because they do pack a Lunch too.
6) What three tools could you not live without?
And of course my Sewing Machine
Thanks for going under the Spotlight Christine 🙂
