I absolutely love the banners created by Amy of Giggleberry on Etsy.
Amy is an inspiration. And she has graciously agreed to go under the Spotlight…
1) Tell us a little bit about yourself…
I am the wife to a fabulous man, a step mum to a 9 year old girl, mum to a 2 year old girl & 11 mnth old boy, a daughter, a sister, a friend, a crafter, a hippo collector and a winter, chocolate & NYC lover!!
2) What time of day are you at your creative best?
What ever time the kiddies are asleep! We are a TV free home so I do a lot of my sewing at night after the kids have crashed out – I find the quiet house with just the sound of the sewing machine very therapeutic 🙂
3) Where do you find your inspiration? Do you have any ‘rituals’ to help put you in the creative state-of-mind?
I, like many crafters, have a slight (okay, okay a HUGE) addiction to fabric so can walk the rows of fabric at a store for hours and find oodles & oodles of inspiration from the colours, patterns, themes in fabrics.
4) How do you squeeze crafting into your busy life?
I do my email reading/replying first thing in the morning before my family are up then when my little kiddies have their day snooze I sew, blog, take product photos, more emails, list products, package items or whatever the ‘To Do’ list has on it. Most of my sewing happens at night. To pull it altogether I couldn’t live without my iPhone! LOL
5) What are you working on now?
At my sewing machine right now I have a custom order for a banner with a shop name on it for a market stall, an order of 6 banners from a stockist, and a ‘Trish (hearts) Matt’ personalized banner for a Kitchen Tea party.
6) What three tools could you not live without?
Sewing machine – obviously
Ironing board – mine is an ironing board that doubles as a cutting desk
Chop Stick – I use it to poke the points out in my flags.
You can find out more about Amy and Giggleberry Creations at her blog – Giggleberry Creations.
And finally, a plug for Amy’s beautiful girl Felecity – Are You Aware? – who has a severe form of Austism. Five amazing women – all *friends* of Felicity’s – will be running on her behalf, to help raise funds to continue Felicity’s treatement. Be sure and check it all out here – Running the Marathon of Austism and see if you can help.
Thanks Amy for going under the Spotlight! You rock 🙂
