“As muddy water is best cleared by leaving it alone, it could be argued that those who sit quietly and do nothing are making one of the best possible contributions to a world in turmoil.”

~Alan Watts

It’s been another busy Saturday in our house.  But a busy Saturday with a difference…  there are only 2 more sleeps before we head off for our family holiday in Tasmania.

And everyone is so excited that you can feel it in the air.

I’ve had this Zen Habits post – Sitting & Watching – open in my browser all day.  I’ve been meaning to get around to reading it, but in between the packing and prep I haven’t gotten to it until now (almost 7:30pm).

The quote above (from the post) has really resonated with me.  It’s been a busy, busy year (leave a comment on how crazy your year has been !) and we’re so looking forward to this holiday because… we. are. going. to. do. not. much. of. anything.

We’re going to sit and watch.

With a 5 hour stop-over in Sydney airport as well, we’re going to get some pretty good practice at sitting, watching and coming to know ourselves.

Reflecting about ‘self’ as we watch others rush about with their busy lives.

I wonder what will change in my life as a result?
