{in biz} Taking a Personal Day

I’m taking a ‘Personal Day’ today.

I’m a firm believer that everyone needs to take a day off every now and again.  Especially if you are a Independent Creative Professional.

And a Mum.

If you think about it, in the work force you get sick days; family leave; parental leave; personal leave; long service leave; and public holidays.

As an Independent Creative Professional you don’t get any of these benefits.  Sure, you are your own boss – but who else here can sometimes still be working at 1 a.m.  Saying to yourself, “I’ll just finish this and then get off to bed.”

And as a Mum you truly are on-call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.  For the rest of your life.

So, I’m taking a personal day.  Admittedly at the insistence of my Husband (bless his boots).  Off to see a movie.  And have a quiet lunch somewhere nice.

See you this afternoon some time….

Sounds like a damn fine idea! I hope you had fun 🙂

      I most certainly did Jess!
Saw “Eclipse” – and I was the oldest ‘girl’ in the cinema!! Loved the movie though, and Daughter and I are excited to see the last one.
Came home to chaos, but at least I was relaxed.
