We’re finally, really on holidays!!

Internet and log-in hiccups mean that I’ve missed the first couple of days (already… why do you always have internet problems when you are away from home?!)

But’s we’re here.

Today we’ve visited the Port Arthur Historic Site.

Steeped in history it really is an amazing place.  And big!  We didn’t realise and had allowed ourselves about 4 hours there, but I think you really need a whole day.

The Bronze pass we purchased allows for 2 days of visiting, which in all honestly would have been great.   But travels dealines (need to be in the north part of Tasmania to have Christmas with my sister) meant that we only had the morning.  Plus there is only so much reading of plaques that the kids will let us do (especially the Little Man who really just wants to run, jump and through rocks at the moment…?!)

Husband did manage to find my Christmas present in the gift shop there too (much to his delight).  Can’t wait to see the looks I get when I wear this hat in town next winter!!

And then it was off to the Tessellated Pavement – which I thought was going to be tessellated tiles on a footpath…  Must say it was heaps better.  Some weird and wonderful salt, wind and nature phenomenon that makes the rocks look like tiles in your kitchen.

And now we’re bumping our way to Swansea.  Trying to type as I sit at the table in the back of the camper and stop everything falling off the table as we drive alone – I’m just so multi-talented like that!
