My kids are usually my spotters for interesting bugs and bits to photograph – but this photo I owe entirely to Mrs Ally, who spotted this spider at the top of the steps at their house.
A few photos later and we let the spider be… until Brother Boz walked up the stairs, spotted the spider and promptly squished it.
It’s a pretty amazing specimen though – especially the patterning on its back.
