After reading this post – Candle-Lit Portrait: Photography Activity – I roped the Daughter and her BFF in to modelling for me.
Got some fun results, which then led to me back-lighting myself with a torch and using my remote timer to take torch-lit self-portraits.
Not easy.
The camera struggled with the low lighting. Focusing was a problem due to using the timer, and the length of the shutter speed meant that you had to sit really, really impossibly still: resulting in movement.
All in all though, a great learning experiment. Going to try another one tomorrow night with the fire as the back-lighting.
