After spotting this DIY chandelier pin a couple weeks back, I was determined to put something similar in our house.

The lights on our back sunroom (which serves as my work area and our dining room) are halogen globes.  Little energy suckers that are prone to warming up too much and turning themselves off.  I’ve been wanting to put some sort of lamp near our dining table – enough to be able to see what you are eating-by – and the fairy light chandelier idea seemed the perfect fit for what I wanted.

So super easy to make, you’ll be able to knock one up for yourself in under 15 minutes!

All you need are a hula hoop and a set of party lights!

Simply keep winding the lights around the hoop until you get to the end – easy!

I opted to mount the hoop on the wall – being a rental property I’m not real keen to go playing around with or paying for an electrician to do the job of mounting them from the ceiling.

Instead the hoop light is now pretty wall feature that lights our meal and is sure to have future dinner guests asking where it was found!
