Fascinators – 2007

Fascinators are a lot like jewellery.

How, you ask?

The styles & designs are endless.   While the materials – sinamay, crin, feathers & flowers – remain the same, the way in which they can be put together is limitless.

Your own personal style will dictate the type of fascinator you choose.  For me, I like the large, really-get-you-noticed styles.  Mind you, I have short hair & can’t actually wear them, but if I had the hair to support a fascinator, I’d go big.

Luscious Lilac (pictured above) is an example of a very feminine, feathery design.  With a sequined flower nestled among small, soft feathers, this design will suit the young & the young at heart.

Diamante Dream is an example of the get-you-noticed style that I prefer.  A blue & pink diamante flower sparkles in the centre of a black feather flower, accentuated with stand-out hot pink & black feathers.  For the slightly more adventurous lady, this fascinator is stylish enough to be noticed in the crowd.

If you were to ask me how to choose a fascinator, I’d give very much the same advice as I have done for jewellery….  if you really love it, go with it.  Try it on.  See how it looks.  How does it make you feel?

And most of all – have fun!
