just a tiny bit chuffed this week

Last year I received an email from the Bureau of Meteorology, asking if I would be interested in submitting a photo for consideration for their annual Australian Weather Calendar.

Feeling just a little special to have been asked, I submitted my photo and received a letter to say that I’d been shortlisted for the 2015 calendar.  The “thank you, but sorry” letter arrived, and while I was disappointed, I was so pleased to have been shortlisted that the disappointment didn’t last long.

Then in early July this year, I received another letter from the Bureau saying that my image had made the 2016 calendar – lots of happy dancing in the kitchen, let me tell you!

I’ve just received my complimentary copies (more happy dancing!), and to see it hanging on my wall….  WOW.

This year the Bureau received over 800 entries, and the photos in the calendar are spectacular.  If I had to pick a favourite, it would be July with the fallstreak hole  – a weather phenomenon that I didn’t even know existed.

The calendar goes on sale today and is available for purchase at the Australian Weather Calendar page.
