it’s a topic that’s been sitting in my consciousness (and my drafts) for a while…

When I first started blogging back in mid-2007, I was in a new town, house-bound with a brand new back injury and with no friends to call on.

I began blogging to link myself to the world…  and back then it was all about me (and I’m not ashamed to admit it).

Over the years, my focus has shifted – from jewellery and industry-related news, to handmade finds, diy’s, natural health and photography. Whatever I posted though always had a little bit of me in there.

i’ve been pondering the question again recently – why do I blog?

I’m refuse to be a slave to its existence (I won’t try to maintain a 5-6 posts-a-week schedule) and blogging will never be my bread-and-butter…  it’s never been about creating a income source for me.

so why do I blog?

I blog because I enjoy it.

I blog to share the things that bring me joy in my life.

I blog to document my journey through life – in both photos and words.

I blog to inspire.

I blog to connect with people and make new friends.

I blog to put my jewellery and photography out in to the world.

I enjoy the writing (not always, but most of the time) and I am delighted to be able share beautiful things found online and in the real world.  I love that I’ve made friends along the way – and have even had the pleasure of meeting a few of them in real life!

And it brings me great happiness to know that there are times when I have touched another person and let them know they are not alone – be it good, bad or downright silly.

we all blog for different reasons… why do you blog?

And finally, for you and your blogging insipiration… writing a blog plan for 2014 from ‘the well’
